The Madeline Island Music Camp begins its second quarter century of chamber music excellence. Our mission is to provide chamber music training and performance for talented young musicians in a structured, residential environment on beautiful Madeline Island. Over the past twenty-five years, the Camp has refined its curriculum to offer a truly exceptional program devoted exclusively to the study and performance of chamber music with distinguished faculty and resident string quartets and woodwind quintets from across the nation.

The Madeline Island Public Library is located in the Town of La Pointe on Madeline Island. Madeline Island is one of the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin in beautiful Lake Superior. The library is housed in a school that was built in 1872. The building itself has been moved several times since it was built. It was originally the Bay View School. In 1927 a new school was built and the building was used as a community center for several years. Then in 1960 the Gary family purchased the building and established the Madeline Island Public Library. An addition to the back of the building was done in 2003. Our collection holds over 10,000 books and a variety of other materials available for check out by patrons.
The La Pointe Center Art Guild & Gallery exhibits area artists’ work in a variety of mediums, One-of-a-kind jewelry, paintings and sculpture, along with locally produced cards are great gifts available at our Backdoor Gallery. Stop in for some artistic inspiration!
Board the ferry to Madeline Island in Wisconsin and be transported by the beauty of Lake Superior as you camp at Big Bay Town Park. Owned by the town of La Pointe, the park provides views and entrance to the dazzling Big Bay Lagoon and the shoreline of the Great Lake. The park is located 7 miles from the ferry landing, and reservations can be made online. There are 61 campsites, including 23 new sites, 22 with electric, in the campground addition across the road. Also available are six new, remote, tent only campsites, along the Lagoon Ridge Trail.

Big Bay State Park is on Madeline Island, the largest of Lake Superior`s 22 Apostle Islands. The 2,350-acre park has a 1.5-mile beach, campground with drinking water, showers and toilets, an outdoor group camp, picnic areas and more than seven miles of hiking and nature trails with incredible views of Lake Superior.
Madeline Island School of the Arts (MISA) is ranked among the top five art and craft schools in the country. The school is located on Madeline Island, the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands in Lake Superior. The Island has an art and craft tradition that dates back more than three hundred years from the earliest settlers of the island while French, then English outposts, and finally, American in the early 1800`s. MISA’s workshop environment is known for its world renowned instructors, spacious studios, superior on-site accommodations, and a staff that will ensure an unforgettable experience
